Lucas vs. Leukemia

I'm raising money for a sweet little boy named Lucas.

On June 18th, 2023, Lucas was diagnosed with B-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL) a month short of his 7th birthday.

It all began in May of this year when Lucas had a cold, and shortly after he started to experience pain in his hip severe enough to require pain medicine. He was taken to his pediatrician for a check up and it was determined he most likely was experiencing growing pains. Two weeks later the pain was worsening so his family reached out to his pediatrician again. They determined it could be Transient Synovitis, inflammation of the joints after a virus, however, his family didn't want to risk missing something and his doctor ordered the first set of labs/blood work. A week later while camping his family received over a dozen calls from his doctor and nurse asking for additional blood work to narrow it down, and “hopefully eliminate major concerns.” He was taken to Primary Children’s Hospital for additional blood work and ultrasounds. Later that same night Lucas was diagnosed with Leukemia and needed to be admitted at Primary Children’s for immediate treatment. The next few days were a whirlwind of emotions, tests, information, unanswered questions, and their baby wondering when he’d get to go home and “go back to normal.”

I am grateful for Primary Children’s Hospital and the incredible Oncology team caring for Lucas. Family, friends, and friends of friends have shown immediate support. The family is grateful to have a brave, strong, cheerful child, who is facing this challenge head on with a big toothless smile on his face and a heart full of love and courage.

Many wish to support Lucas and his family. That is why we are collection any gifts/donations for anybody that wishes to share. Contributions will be used to assist in medical bills for Lucas’ treatments. Any remaining funds will be donated to one of the many nonprofit organizations invested in researching childhood cancer, such as the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Thank you, and God Bless!
