Dr. Susan Moore, a physician residing in Indianapolis, experienced an untimely death.
She had been fighting COVID for the past few weeks. She leaves a son who is 19 yrs old and her parents, both of which have dementia. The son is dealing with both situations at this time and is in good spirits.
Susan was a phenomenal doctor. She loved practicing medicine, she loved being a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, she loved helping people, and she was unapologetic about it.
This fundraiser is to assist her family with immediate needs, which are currently housing and food, as she was the sole provider for her son and parents. This page will be updated as more needs arise, including funeral costs, moving expenses, and incidentals.
Alicia Sanders is a local physician who was in contact with Dr. Moore in the last few weeks of her life. She is a conduit by which Henry and Dr. Moore's family have been able to receive supplies.
The first $2300 of these funds will be used for immediate needs: rent and food for Henry and his grandparents for December. Another $8-10,000 will be used for moving expenses, funeral arrangements, and payment of bills like Henry's cell phone. After that, a portion will be used for maintenance costs associated with living: rent, utilities, other bills. The remainder, whatever that will be, will be used to create a separate fund, likely a trust, whereby Henry will get disbursements at designated ages to help support him over the years.
Alicia will ensure the first payments are made to cover Henry's housing. Then family representatives, including Rashad Elby, will ensure the separate fund is set up for the benefit of Henry.
Thank you, everyone, for helping make sure Henry will be taken care of for years to come.
