Dr. Sam's Had Our Backs - Now Let's Have His!

For 35 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving the Shasta County community—helping people stay healthy day in and day out. I’ve been here through good times and hard times, providing care through COVID, the fires, and everything in between. As the Team Doctor for the Redding Colt 45s since 2002, and a supporter of local cheerleading squads, youth sports teams, and soccer programs, I’ve always believed in supporting the community that has given me so much.

Now, I find myself on the other side—needing help.

Recently, I was hit with an unexpected, acute infection in my colon that resulted in a fistula and required immediate surgery. The surgeon has informed me that repairing the damaged tissue will require an additional surgery. The entire process will keep me out of work for up to 5 months.

Like so many small business owners, I’m feeling the financial strain of being unable to work. The bills don’t stop, even when we do. I’m doing my best to focus on healing—hearing “a little better today than yesterday”—but I need help to keep my practice and livelihood alive while I recover.
