Dr Robert Bolin Cancer Center tribute sculpture

As a Principle Creator of what is now the Bay Area Hospital Cancer Center, Dr. Robert Bolin brought this much needed cancer service center to not only the North Bend and Coos Bay areas, but the entire coast. Before ailing and weakened patients had to travel too far off places like Eugene or Portland. Seeing this need and wanting to fulfill his lifelong desire to lessen suffering and promote healing, he threw himself into the creation of this localized center that could greatly improve cancer patients' quality of life and care. In this same spirit, he was also a driving force in promoting and creating Alcohol and Addiction Recovery services in that area, and in fact in far off places and other countries.
This gofundme is for the creation of a bronzed sculpture paying tribute to this man's committed service to The Bay Area to ease suffering and promote healing and recovery. I have created this clay representation of him which will now be bronzed, the procedure which requires funding to work with a foundry in manufacturing a mold to be poured with bronze.
I am Dr. Bolin's son, Troye Bolin, and have been studying sculpture for the last 4 years under the mentoring of the internationally acclaimed sculptor Kevin Christman, who also advised me on this piece. Heather Bolin, his daughter, is instrumental in pulling together resources and support in the Bay Area to make this all possible. Donations will not be withdrawn (so not used) until we meet the goal, or near enough the goal to be feasible for the sculpture for the Cancer Center (so, not for personal or family). If these conditions are not met the donations will never be withdrawn from the donors' accounts. The associated costs are not for any profit but strictly for the creation of the tribute sculpture to be placed in prominent view at the Cancer Center, for those of us to be reminded of how he has touched our lives, and in the smiling, intelligent, and caring depiction bring a spark of hope and happiness for those new patients setting eyes on him for the first time.
