Dr. George Richards' Mission for Orphan Care

Hello. I'm Dr. George Richards and I am a professor of criminal justice at Pennsylvania Western University. Over the past three years I have experienced a number of medical issues and I'm grateful for the family and friends who supported me throughout my healing. Above all though, I consider myself to be blessed. It is in this spirit I am seeking to help those in need.

I am raising funds for medical and educational expenses at orphanages in India, Sierra Leone, and Uganda. I am currently on the boards of the Dream Again Home for Ebola orphans in Freetown, Sierra Leone and the Charity for Hope Orphanage in Wakiso, Uganda. In addition, I am also working with colleagues in India to find similar needs in Chennai and Nagpur.

I have made numerous trips to India and served in Sierra Leone in 2019 as a lecturer for Professors Without Borders. Pictures, video, and audio of the horrific conditions shown on the news and in documentaries about Third-World poverty do not do the desperation of the children there justice. I have taken much time to research those organizations that I consider legitimate and have made contact with the administrators there. I am absolutely confident that the monies raised with go for their intended purpose.

I will disburse funds according to what I perceive to be the most pressing need at the time. Monies will be distributed throughout the Winter and the Spring of 2025. If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
