Pivotal member and contributor to Palm Beach Hounds, Dr. Pat Ries, suffered an accident February 16 when a tree limb fell on her head. She suffered head trauma and fractured several vertebrae in her back and neck and has undergone extensive surgery. No surgery was required for the fractured vertebrae in her back.  The muscle damage to her left shoulder should heal without surgery also. After six days, Dr. Pat has been dismissed from  the ICU at Longwood Medical center in Fort Pierce and has been moved to a rehabilitation center where she will work hard to return to her practice at Savanna Animal Hospital.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her as she heals. Many members have been asking for details to send flowers and well wishes.  Because of her allergies we were thinking that maybe setting up a little surprise fund for grain/hay and horse care would be super helpful and appropriate.

Dr. Pat's horses have given great sport all season! They've mounted our huntsman  several times this season, and always take great care of our guests and members.
