We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Dr. Mutasim Dhafallah, a devoted and compassionate doctor who served in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, for more than 10 years. He also previously worked in Wexford, Waterford, and Cavan.

Dr. Dhafallah was diagnosed with NSCLC in 2019 and underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Despite his illness and later brain metastases, he continued working until 2024. Throughout this difficult journey, he remained cooperative, caring, and kind to everyone around him, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Even during his illness, Dr. Dhafallah remained deeply devoted to his family and continued to support them through the war crisis in Sudan. His strength, resilience, and selflessness were a true reflection of the kind person he was.

He is survived by his loving family, including his two sons, Mohamed, who is studying in dental college, and Omer, who is in first year university, as well as his three daughters, two in secondary school and one in primary school. His passing has left an immense void in the lives of his family, friends, colleagues, and the wider medical community.

We are organizing this fundraiser to help support Dr. Dhafallah’s family with funeral expenses and to provide financial assistance during this heartbreaking time. Any donation, no matter how small, will be deeply appreciated and will help ease the burden on his family.
