Dr Mohammed Mustafa—known to many as Dr Mo—is an English-Australian emergency doctor based in Australia with Palestinian roots and a heart as fierce as it is kind. Born into a refugee family and trained in some of the world’s leading hospitals, Dr Mo chose not to look away when the ceasefire in Gaza collapsed. He flew to the heart of the crisis—twice—volunteering at Nasser and European Hospitals in Khan Younis, where he treated wounded children, healing babies amidst rubble, and comforted grieving parents.

His raw, real-time updates from Gaza’s emergency departments reached millions, reminding the world that behind every headline is a child who wants to live, play, and grow.

Now, Dr Mo is on a mission no child should have to wait for: to build a dedicated children’s hospital in Gaza. One that stands as a symbol of compassion.
