Matilde Mignone Fava was an inspiring mother of 3 daughters, a devoted wife of 48 years, a loving Nonna to 9 adoring grandchildren, a supportive sister to her close-knit siblings, a proud aunt to dozens of nieces and nephews, a passionate professor to thousands of students, a dedicated colleague, a loyal friend, and a trailblazer.  Her strength of character and conviction were models for all who knew her.

 Matilde taught for nearly 60 years, published numerous articles and books, and presented annually at global conferences.  She was a life-long learner and educator.  To honor her dedication to her students, her family has established The Dr. Matilde Fava Student Scholarship Fund to support student research of modern languages, literature, culture, and the immigrant experience.  Donations will go directly to students at the universities where Matilde established programs and taught for several decades.  We appreciate your support of this legacy scholarship in lieu of flowers or other gifts.
