Dr. Mary Lou Mahan was an educator in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District for 30 years.
Starting as a teacher, Mary Lou recognized the impact that a quality education could have on a person’s life. Through her administrative work as an assistant principal and principal, Dr. Mahan worked to advance education in all areas, with an inclusive style that reflected her own upbringing, as well as experiences garnered through world travel.
”Oma” taught children via engaging activities, from bubble-blowing to block building, bug hunts, and animal care. She was an especially good story teller.
Please help the Mahan family to recognize her impact on education and the Newburgh area.
All contributions, regardless of amount/size, will be very gratefully applied to an NFA scholarship honoring Dr. Mahan.
