Dr Mariya’s Dental Volunteering in Namibia

Hi, my name is Mariya, and I’m raising funds for a very meaningful cause that’s close to my heart. I’ve been given an incredible opportunity to volunteer in Namibia with Mobile Smiles, a charity dedicated to delivering free dental care to some of the most underserved communities in the country.

Namibia faces a critical shortage of dental professionals. In fact, the first dentist trained in Namibia only graduated in the last few years. For many people living in rural or impoverished areas, even the most basic dental care is completely out of reach. Mobile Smiles works to bridge that gap by providing mobile clinics that travel to remote areas, offering relief from pain, infection, and untreated dental conditions that have gone on for years without care.

As part of the volunteer team, I’ll be working directly to provide hands-on support in delivering emergency dental treatment and oral health advice. Every tooth we treat and every patient we help represents a real impact—a smile returned, a pain relieved, and a life improved.

I’m currently raising funds to cover the costs of travel, accommodation, and supplies needed to make this volunteer trip possible. Every contribution, no matter how much, will directly support my ability to take part in this mission and extend vital care to those who would otherwise go without.
