On Friday afternoon, about 3:30 pm, on January 13th, Carlton Russell “Jack” Kibbee, Jr. DVM, passed away in his sleep, surrounded by his two beloved dogs and cats. He had not been feeling well, and asked to be left alone to nap. He never woke up.
Jack was born on December 15, 1940, in Keene, NH, to Carlton Russell Kibble Sr. and Agnes Kibbee.
When Jack was fourteen years old, his family moved from Keene, NH, to the El Cajon area. Jack attended El Cajon Valley High School where he met Mr. Jim Dyer, the AG teacher. Jack’s love of animals blossomed and Jack went on to successfully graduate from UCDavis in 1965 as a doctor of veterinary medicine. He immediately joined the Air Force as a Captain, and served mostly in England during the Vietnam War. In December of 1967, Jack was honorably discharged from the Air Force and began his 56 year veterinary career.
Jack is survived by his fourth, final, and favorite wife Paula; soon to be 68.
His children include:
Ceniza, 15 year old quarter horse mare, Riata, 11 year old border collie female; Cadillac Red, 10 1/2 year old Aussie shepherd male; T Rex, tabby male feline; Jeepers, grey tabby female feline; Thelma, calico female feline; Pinky, calico female feline; G-man, the Gansta cat; and Amazing Gracie, tabby female feline.
Thank you for your support to help his family during this difficult time.
