Since the sudden passing of my sister Jill Holman, I have been searching for a way to memorialize her life. After much thought and reflection, I began a small scholarship in my sisters name in 2023/2024 at a local high school for graduating students. My dream now is to expand this memorial award. This school year I am offering two $500 scholarships at two local high schools here in the Puna District of Hawaii Island.

Dr. Jill Holman died unexpectedly 12/31/2021. She was an avid learner and believer in higher education. She was a prodigy at math general and economics in particular. She rose to become an economics professor at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee and University of Georgia as well as a research economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Her life was cut tragically short during the COVID-19 pandemic.
