Dr. Jeff’s Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
For years, many of us have taken our pets to Planned Pethood International where Dr. Jeff Young and his staff have taken amazing care of them. But caring for our pets hasn’t been Dr. Jeff’s only priority… he has also looked out for us, too, providing incredible veterinary care but at a cost that’s actually affordable, something that just doesn’t exist at most vet clinics.

Now it’s our turn to help Dr. Jeff. As many of you know, he and his staff recently opened a brand new clinic—the Planned Pethood Veterinary Hospital and Training Center— in Conifer, Colorado, which was literally a dream come true for him. Dr. Jeff always wanted this place to be his legacy… a clinic where people and their pets can still get the best low-cost vet care available but at the same time allow veterinary students from around the world to train with him and his staff and benefit first-hand from his 30+ years of knowledge and expertise treating animals.

However, just as he was in the final stages of opening the new clinic this past spring, Dr. Jeff got the devastating news that, once again, he had cancer. For any fan of the TV series, “Dr. Jeff Rocky Mountain Vet” which ran for eight wonderful seasons on Animal Planet, we all watched him go through his previous battle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 2016, undergoing chemotherapy treatments but all the while still working at the clinic and never losing his optimistic spirit. And not only did he beat the cancer, he provided inspiration and hope for other cancer patients, my sister, Cheri, among them.

But this time, Dr. Jeff is dealing with a different and far more aggressive form of cancer, and while he’ll be the first to tell you he won’t go down without a fight, the reality is he’s in a fight for his life, and he just doesn’t have the energy to take on all his health issues and the financial struggles he’s had to face opening the new clinic. Anyone who knows Dr. Jeff knows he is a hard-working and proud man who doesn’t like to ask for help, and he likely would (and probably will) be upset with a client and fan like me for starting this GoFund me page to help him out during this really difficult time in his life. But I’m doing it anyway!

So please… whatever you can afford to give, would you consider giving back to Dr. Jeff for all he’s done to help people and animals through the years? I know every donation, big or small, will be a huge help to him and allow him and his staff to continue doing the amazing work they do at the clinic and, more importantly, alleviate some of the stress Dr. Jeff is under while he tries to beat this cancer.

Every penny will make a difference, and it will be our way of showing Dr. Jeff that we’re not only his biggest fans but his friends, too.

Thank you!
