Dr Janell Green Smith, CNM a respected midwife, scholar, and advocate has died from complications related to childbirth. She leaves a husband and newborn that need the support of her village.

This GoFundMe has been created to help ease the immediate and ongoing financial burdens during this time. Funds raised will go toward the following specific needs:

Funeral and memorial expenses to honor Janell’s life with dignity

Immediate living expenses to allow Daiquan time to grieve without financial pressure

Newborn care essentials, including diapers, clothing, and medical needs

Ongoing support and stability for Daiquan and the baby in the months ahead as they adjust to this new reality
