On July 14th we lost our father, husband, father-in-law, grandfather, professor, musician, captain--there are not enough titles to explain all that Dr. Gursel Suer meant to our family, loved ones, and friends. He was a champion for higher education and a champion for his community on and off the soccer field.

We are in the process of establishing a memorial fund to provide scholarships to first year college students pursuing a degree in engineering. As a professor of Industrial & Systems Engineering at the Russ College of Engineering & Technology at Ohio University for 20 years, and before that, 12 years at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez, education and academia were a top priority to Gursel and the legacy he built.

The Suer family and our loved ones cannot thank you enough for any amount you are able to contribute. Gursel loved his family and the many communities he had in Athens, Puerto Rico, Turkey, and around the world and we will all miss him deeply.
