DR. FIONA BRADLEY SCHOLARSHIPS

“Since hearing Fiona’s story she has been a huge inspiration and I hope to achieve even half of what she did in her short life” - Psychology Student and recipient of the Fiona Bradley Scholarship.
Dr. Fiona Bradley died from breast cancer 20 years ago at the age of 41. She had a passion for life and a commitment to social equality for all. In her memory, the Fiona Bradley Foundation (FBF) has been providing financial support to carefully selected students at Trinity College Dublin, in order to tackle educational disadvantage. Recipients of these funds may have struggled with homelessness, bereavement, or the demands of single-parenthood in low-income communities; others are recovering addicts, ex-prisoners or asylum seekers in Direct Provision. The Fiona Bradley Foundation helps these students to attend foundation courses through our partners at the Trinity Access Programme (TAP). Extraordinarily, 93% of these students proceed to degree level studies and 90% graduate. So far, the FBF has supported 12 individuals studying for degrees in Maths, Sociology, Radiotherapy, Law, Medicine, Economics, Speech and Language Therapy, and Pharmacy. The funding helps the students to pay for computers, books, travel to college, childcare, a healthy diet and other daily essentials.
“The Trinity Access Programme changed my life! I have always dreamt of becoming a pharmacist but I didn’t have the support that I needed.”
We are proud of what we have achieved so far in Fiona’s name, and our aim is to fund 4 more students each year for the next 5 years, in cooperation with the Trinity Access Programme. The cost of this will be €40,000. We will be so grateful for any contribution that you can make towards that total. A heartfelt THANK YOU for your continued support of The Fiona Bradley Foundation.
