Dr. Delisi's Road To Recovery
Donation protected
If you know Dr. Larry Delisi at all, you know how many patients he's helped over the 32 years of his chiropractic career in Winthrop, WA. Northwest Chiropractic opened its doors in 1989, and Dr. Delisi has been instrumental in helping his patients heal their back and neck pain in order to live fulfilling lives. In addition to his career, Larry was involved in youth sports in the Methow Valley for years. He coached MV Youth Baseball from 1996-2004, established the Loup Loup Alpine Ski Team in 1989, and continued to coach skiing through 2007.
But now Larry needs our help and support.
Unfortunately, he was involved in a significant auto accident on June 7, 2023, while driving home from Omak on the Loup Loup Highway. Dr. Delisi was flown by helicopter from the scene of the accident to Wenatchee, WA, and eventually was medevaced to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle by helicopter. Larry suffered pelvic and sacral fractures and a compression fracture at T12. He underwent a 3-hour surgery on June 9, where they stabilized his fractures and put him back together. After spending multiple days in ICU at Harborview Medical Center, he is back home in the Methow Valley recovering.
The accident has rendered him disabled at this time.
While we are hoping for an eventual full recovery, Larry has a long road ahead of him, filled with uncertainties around his physical healing, medical expenses, and the loss of daily income for months or maybe longer. I'm convinced that relieving some of the stress around his financial and medical bills will help him to heal his body faster.
I know I'm not the first patient, nor hopefully the last, who greatly benefits from Dr. Delisi's expert health assessments and techniques, but now the time has come for Larry to heal himself.
On July 3, Dr. Delisi returns to Harborview Medical Center for an evaluation and assessment of his progress to date.
Any amount, any support, is genuinely appreciated. Let's show Larry some love, compassion, and kindness in his current life phase. As updates happen, I will post them here.
Feel free to send Dr. Delisi messages here; I will be sure he receives them.
Thanks for your consideration.
UPDATE JULY 12, 2023
It's been a little more than a month since Larry's traumatic auto accident. The first time I saw him, perhaps one week after it, he was using a walker, barely shuffling around and needing help to sit down in a chair. His nights were super stressful, and he suffered from much pain.
Two weeks out from the accident, he was getting around better with his walker, able to step out with better balance.
This week, he's using a walking stick and can walk approximately a mile, with half of it unassisted. Slow but steady. He's working hard at PT, as you can imagine, and plans to continue to do so. He still tires easily but feels so grateful to have the love and support of family and friends. When he can, he will personally thank each and every one of you.
On July 3, he returned to Seattle to Harborview for a checkup and evaluation. They told him that his prognosis was good and that he just needed to keep working toward that.
So, all in all, Larry feels thankful that he had skilled support from Aero Methow and expert doctors at Harborview that put him back together, and he's very grateful to be alive and able to keep moving toward healing himself.
Thanks for all your messages of love and kindness to Larry. We really appreciate it.
