Dr. David Mchaina, born of the Musamba tribe, passed away near Mukumi National Park in Tanzania on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at the age of 70.

He was laid to rest in Seluka Village in Magila, Tanzania on July 23, 202

David was immensely passionate about family, community, education and the environment. He was committed to building a legacy for his family and community both in Canada and Tanzania.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be collecting donations for the Anglican Diocese of Tanga, Magila Parish (location of funeral service), the St. Augustine’s Hospital Teule (preparation for funeral), and the Magila Primary and Secondary Schools (childhood schools).
