The Dr David Gilhooly Memeorial Scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of our beloved friend and colleague. David co-founded an international charity called Global Emergency Care Skills ( www.gecs.ie)  in 2009 to train doctors and nurses in African Hospitals in the the delivery of life saving critical care and resuscitation skills.
This Scholarship will be awarded to a trainee in Anaesthesia in Kenya or Malawi to honour David's belief in ending health poverty through medical education. The Board of Directors of GECS will take responsibility for the financial and coporate governance of the scholarship.
