Dr. Craig Manifold spent his entire professional and military career focused on enhancing emergency medical services (EMS), from training emergency medical technicians to sharing his knowledge and expertise of emergency and disaster medicine on the international stage. Dr. Craig Manifold, in 1977, started his EMS and medical career as an Emergency Medical Technician, (EMT) in the ambulance service of the Eureka Volunteer Fire Department in Stewartstown, PA. His journey as a volunteer firefighter EMT, enlisted medic in the U.S. Air Force, to a physician in the Air Force, emergency physician and EMS medical director, and an expert in emergency, critical care and military deployment medicine spans decades of saving lives and servings others.
In Bexar County, Dr. Manifold was key in the implementation of EMS services in several departments, the use of mechanical ventilation and portable ultra-sound and the Whole Blood program. Dr. Manifold also provided clinical oversight of several EMS Academies.
Dr. Manifold knew with focused education and training EMS personnel could save more lives. This scholarship will support High School EMS education and assist with costs associated with completing an EMT program by high school students.
Funds from this campaign will be deposited into a bank account managed by Darrell Colleran and Fire Chief Kevin Clarkson from District 7 Fire Rescue. The funds in this account would be used to directly contribute to the scholarship in funding the education for the awardees
