Many of you know that William, Dr. Carl Bell's 25 year old son, lives with end stage renal disease/kidney failure. We are hopeful that a kidney will become available for transplant this year. With Carl's passing, William is left with Illinois Medicaid as his only health insurance. The astronomical cost of dialysis, medication and other related medical expenses is not entirely borne by Medicaid and will continue to increase.  In addition, William is more likely to get an out of state kidney before one becomes available in Illinois.  
Despite Williams’s parents’ careful planning,  the family has insufficient funds to cover the out-of-pocket medical costs. We are asking that in lieu of flowers or other expressions  of sympathy, that you consider donating to this fund for William's health care. We are hopeful that a kidney will become available for transplant this year, but continue to await a suitable donor.
