This is a call to action: One of our own, a dedicated and beloved Howard University
Professor, Dr. Dorothy Payne Bryan is in need of our help today!
I was in college at Howard University, when I met my favorite teacher, my mentor, my guru, my bonus mom, Associate Professor Dr. Dorothy Payne Bryan. A tall, beautiful, highly educated mid-westerner, an Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. sorority member, with a wicked sense of humor, with more love to share than any teacher I have known. We ALL were her favorites and we ALL knew it. She made us better scholars, better consumers, better-rounded individuals, better ready for the workplace and poised to be industry leaders, the hallmark of those graduating from the Mecca- Howard University.
Now at 83 years old Dr. Bryan needs us! ALL of us!!
Her co-op fees are behind, her home is in jeopardy and the HOA administrators, are aggressively trying to remove her from her home of 30+ years, in winter during a deadly pandemic!
A simple donation from you will aide her in attacking the arrearages, relocating her to another residence that will at once allow her to age in place and remain secure in her community and connected to her friends and family, as well as covering the GoFundMe fees associated with this fundraiser.
Dr. Bryan is already in the highest COVID-19 risk group because of her age, but adding to that fact is 15 years ago she underwent quadruple by-pass surgery after suffering a heart attack. If she were to contract this airborne virus, it could be fatal. It is an abomination that after all her years of dedicated service to a myriad of communities, that she now finds herself forced to risk her life to supplement her retirement income by having to go out and look for work as well as look for a new residence during the Covid-19 outbreak.
Please, if you have the means, won’t you help?
In Gratitude,
The Friends of Dr. Bryan
