Our beloved Dr. Benjamin “Benji” Chang, Ph.D., passed away unexpectedly after a heart attack on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. He was only 45 years old.
Benji was a devoted husband, loving father, caring son, thoughtful uncle, and dependable friend to so many. He delighted our hearts, touched our souls, and expanded our minds. Then abruptly and too suddenly he left us.
Benji, an associate professor at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, was passionate about teaching and teacher education. He cared deeply about his work and generously invested himself in his students.
He was an educator by day and a DJ by night — DJ Ultraman, to be exact. His set lists provided nothing but good times and good vibes. IYKYK.
Of the many titles he held, Benji was most proud to be a father to his sweet three-year-old daughter, Rayen, and a husband to his incredible wife, Jenny. It is heartbreaking to imagine what they are going through.
At this time, we ask for your support for Benji’s family.
The funds raised will cover funeral expenses; and any additional funds will support Jenny and Raye as they navigate their "new normal" during this difficult time. No amount is too small.
