Dr. Alice Okoth-Ogwal Homegoing

Evangelist Dr. Alice Nyadoi Okoth-Ogwal has been a wife to me for 47 short years. We met and dated each other for three months and then got married. It was love at first sight! During all of these years, she has been the strength and support in my life and my ministry. A very well-educated young woman, she held a Bachelors in Accounting, Masters in Human Resources and a doctorate degree in Christian Faith.
She was a loving, productive and articulate woman that had a way with words and touched the hearts of everyone she met. Due to the combination of her strong faith and her optimistic outlook on life, she was able to minister to millions of people - many times in dangerous situations! Mama Alice has made friends in all parts of the world, from the mother land of Africa, to the coldest parts of Canada, Europe, and right here in the United States. She was always down to earth and compassionate so all could see her heart.
As I ministered as a Bishop in the church of God, it was very busy. I always had a very strong support at home, especially when people from all walks of life came to the house. They were always loved, fed and welcomed with opened arms. It is Alice that made me strong in who I am today. Because of her fervent faith in God and love for all people, we were able to make each other who we are -often times called the two love birds. She was the "ying to my yang." We worked together so well all of these years and were so in-sync, that often times without even consulting each other, we did the exact same things, such as setting the same passwords on our phones without knowing!
In her last year, she had a serious heart condition that caused fluctuations in her daily activities. Even though she had this condition, she continued to touch the lives of many as a prayer warrior and one of the founding members of the prayer group. It is because of this unique woman of God and humanity, that we appeal to you to generously support her home-going by donating to this fund. The sudden and untimely death of mama Alice on June 29, 2018 at 5 p.m., has left us shocked, hurt, empty and in pain. We have been thrust into having to make funeral arrangements to celebrate her life.
Due to the many lives that she has touched, we would love to have memorial services in Harrisburg, PA and Atlanta, GA before taking her body home for final burial. Once in Uganda, there will be a total of four separate services in four different towns all on different days, before reaching her final resting place in Adilang. It would be an honor and greatly appreciated, if you could help our family celebrate mama Alice's life by helping us reach our goal!
With your help, we know we will be able to honor her the way she deserves and allow those that she's touched in all of these areas to be able to pay their final respect. Mama Alice had a big and giving heart and was willing to sacrifice to be obedient to God. We rejoice in the precious time that we had to spend with her. We thank you in advance for helping us bring this vision to a reality. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
We are comforted by the words of Mama Alice's five year old grand-niece, little Zion Taylor, "Don't cry, Auntie Alice is in heaven and we are going to see her again. Just follow her footsteps!"
