Medical Travel

In July of 2014, Ramon Valles symptoms began when he started feeling like he was coming down with a cold that he could not shake off. After a visit with the local emergency room in Hobbs, New Mexico and his primary doctor did not alleviate his symptoms, he went to another emergency room in a nearby town. It was there that a CT scan revealed a mass in his pancreas and he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Thankfully through his insurance company he was able to get a second opinion at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona where it was confirmed that he has stage 4 pancreatic/liver cancer. Ramon Valles is a 36 year old man who is recovering from the loss of his mother on March 8, 2014. He is a loving husband and father of two beautiful little girls, 2 year old Bella and 4 year old Amaris. Ramon will be starting a clinical trial in September which means that he will have to travel weekly to Arizona for his treatment. Even though his insurance is helping, it does not cover all the medical expenses that he is incurring. Ramon and family will commute back and forth for a total of 28 weeks.  Ramon has not been able to work due to the pain and the side effects of the pain medication that he is taking. Ramon, though in a lot of pain and the knowledge of the severity of his illness remains optimistic and knows he is able to beat his illness. We have placed Ramon, his wife, children and siblings in the healing hands of our Loving father that he may guide them through this journey.
