Time to face the shave

Hi everyone, as most of you now know I have recently been diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

“What is lymphoma?”
‘Lymphoma is a type of blood cancer.
It is the 5th most common type of cancer in the UK.
It can affect both adults and children, at any age.
Lymphoma develops when white blood cells called lymphocytes grow out of control. - Lymphoma Action, https://lymphoma-action.org.uk/about-lymphoma/what-lymphoma

Being diagnosed with cancer as a healthy, happy 23 year old was the last thing I expected going into this year and even now I don’t think I’ve really come to terms with the journey that I have ahead of me. However, even amongst all the madness, I am overwhelmed and feel truly blessed by everyone’s love and support. I am determined for this journey to be a positive one that spreads awareness for cancer in young people, and also hope that I can help to encourage and inspire others who are also going through a rough phase at the moment.

It is highly likely that chemotherapy will take my hair so I’ve decided I want to shave it first! Not only to make me feel empowered and like I have taken ownership myself but also to raise money for an incredible charity whilst doing so.

Teenage Cancer Trust have already been and will continue to be a huge part of my journey. It only feels right for them to be my charity of choice.
“Teenage Cancer Trust offers unique care and support, designed for and with young people. We fund specialised nurses, youth workers and hospital units in the NHS, so young people have dedicated staff and facilities to support them throughout treatment.- Teenage Cancer Trust https://www.teenagecancertrust.org/about-us

I know times are tough at the moment and pennies can be tight but if you have a little to spare to an amazing charity and you’d like to support me on my bald head journey then please do donate !

Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
