Since December 2018, Chase Benjamin Antiques has been a vibrant part of the fabric of downtown Fredericton's landscape. Chase's friendly nature and passion for the industry have made him a regular stop for many in our city.
Unfortunately, on August 3 2025, a truck collided with the front end of Chase’s shop. Thankfully, nobody was injured, however the damage to the store is extensive and it resulted in severe damage to the building, damaged merchandise, and a scramble for Chase and the other 4 residential tenants who reside there.
Chase has always been a bright light in the downtown community extending kindness and warmth to everyone who came through his doors. He has always been passionate about uplifting the community; as a small business owner, as a former member of the Fredericton Pride Board, and in creating a space that shares memories and nostalgia with all who enters it.
While the future for this physical building remains unknown, we do know that this unexpected turn of events will incur new expenses and challenges that Chase had not been anticipating. Consigners and folks with credit on file will need to be paid out and a larger storage unit will need to be secured to hold items in the interim; Sales have been lost as a result of the building being inaccessible; the damage to the building is extensive and moving to a new temporary or new permanent location will require time, energy, and money that had not been budgeted.
Please consider giving to help support Chase and the start of a new, bright future for Chase Benjamin Antiques.
