Guillain-Barre (gee-YAH-buh-RAY) syndrome is a rare disorder in which your body's immune system attacks your nerves. Weakness and tingling in your extremities are usually the first symptoms.
These sensations can quickly spread, eventually paralyzing your whole body. In its most severe form Guillain-Barre syndrome is a medical emergency. Most people with the condition must be hospitalized to receive treatment.
The exact cause of Guillain-Barre syndrome is unknown. But it is often preceded by an infectious illness such as a respiratory infection or the stomach flu.
There's no known cure for Guillain-Barre syndrome, but several treatments can ease symptoms and reduce the duration of the illness. Most people recover from Guillain-Barre syndrome, though some may experience lingering effects from it, such as weakness, numbness or fatigue.

Im trying to raise money to get Othropedic Foot Braces for my feet, since ive recently turn 22 medicaid will not pay for my braces anymore, i was diagnosed with Gullian Barre Syndrome in 07' by taking the first dose of Hpv shot. I have no ankle movement/foot drop and the ones i have now they are barely hanging on by me using tape to hold them togather. These braces are my life they give me hope, to not be able to walk with out them breaks my heart. With these braces im able to walk long distance able to stand up for a quiet a long time, also as finding a good job and dont have to worry about them breaking on me, like they do now. ive been having these braces for 2years now, i would of got them fixed a long time ago but as we all know medicaid says we have to have them over 2years and ive worn them out way before two years. i would be so thankful from the bottom of my heart if i was to get any kind of help.
