First, a big thank you! As many of you know, I am a full-time student currently enrolled at Aveda Phoenix Institute for my cosmetology license. I have received so much love and support from everybody in my life for the career path I have chosen. I just want to thank everybody and say how blessed I am to have such an incredible support system in my life. I am scheduled to graduate late July, and am in the last phase of my schooling. It has been a hard but rewarding past 9 months at Aveda, and I am so excited to finish strong and begin the next chapter of life.
Aveda offers a unique opportunity in their program for select students to assist and be mentored by top talent at New York Fashion Week. Of the hundreds of Aveda students who applied across the nation, 15 cosmetology students were chosen. I was blessed enough to be one of those students. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and a year ago, I never would have imagined this would be me!
My goal is to raise $3,500 to cover my expenses (the first $1,500 due by June 29th; the remainder due August 3rd). This includes airfare, transportation, hotel accommodations, and meals. The trip dates are September 1st-8th of 2019. This experience includes working hands on with top stylists in the industry, such as Jon Reyman and Janell Geason, who have been featured in Vogue magazine on several occasions.
I would love your support, whether it’s prayer or financial. Anything that you can do towards making this a reality would mean far more than I could ever say. It would truly be the beginning of not only my career, but a life full of opportunity.
I am already so grateful for all the love and support that has gotten me this far. Thank you again for everything, and please keep me in your prayers in the upcoming weeks.
