Dan's Medical Fund

Dan started having flu like symptoms 4 weeks ago and received an antibiotic to treat his symptoms. Erin, his partner of 12 years, noticed his symptoms were worsening to the point where he wouldn't even get out of bed. This is not like dan at all, as we all know, he would go go go no matter what. Erin took him to the emergency room about a week and a half later and was immediately, emergency transported to St. Claire's Hospital where he stayed 8 agonizing nights. Erin and Dan did not disclose this information to many considering how shocking it became. 4 days after he arrived at the hospital they got the news that Dan had limited time to live. Dan was not offered any treatment considering how fast this disease took over his body and his life. Erin brought Dan home to his Hospice bed only 8 days after being admitted to the hospital and being told this devistating news. Erin, her daughter, and Dan's daughter cared for Dan for his remaining 7 days of life. Dan passed away early morning Easter. The results showed that Dan had Hepatitis C, unknown and un-treated for 20 years. This lead to liver cancer that destroyed his body in a short 15 days.  Due to the lack of insurance from his unexplainable recent job termination and self employment efforts, the medical bills that Erin is faced with are outrageous.  Erin depended on Dan's support, love, and companionship and is left empty with out any of these. Any dollar put towards this fund will be appreciated beyond belief. Any bit helps. A favorite quote from Erin to her husband was always "The reason for our love is certainly you.
