Gracie's Christmas Miracle!

My beautiful Doberman Pinscher Gracie, 6 years old, had spay surgery yesterday, Thursday, 12-10-20. Several hours later, at around 4am, we had to rush her to the Animal Emergency Clinic of San Diego. She had extremely labored breathing, white gums, and was totally listless. She could not even walk! She arrived at the Clinic in critical condition.
Upon examination, they found she had an abdomen full of blood. She was given excellent care and treatment while trying to figure out the cause of the bleeding. Blood work has shown that for some unknown reason, she is not clotting blood as she should while still having an active internal bleed. They have been repeatedly suctioning the blood out of her abdomen and giving it back to her. She has also been given several units of plasma to help with clotting.
As of now, Friday evening at 9 pm, the ER Vet called and said they still don't know WHY she is not clotting!? Still very weak and unstable while ambulatory. More blood, plasma, tests, etc. needed to figure this out. This is where we could use some financial help. In less than 24 hours, our bill has reached $4000 and still climbing. The Vet feels she has a very good chance of recovering since she is otherwise very healthy. She will however need to stay in the hospital for up to 5 days in hopes that she will start to clot on her own. Also to monitor her closely for internal bleeding.
In order for us to continue her care, we will need help asap as they will be sending us another invoice in the morning. I have never asked for help with anything before, and feel quite uncomfortable doing so. Gracie is just such a sweet, loving girl and part of our family. We feel we owe it to her to make every effort to help with her recovery so she can come home. Please know that any donation amount would be appreciated to help keep her care/treatment going.
