Jonah is 8 years old and was diagnosed with epilepsy in October 2024.
Receiving a diagnosis of epilepsy at such a young age is life-changing. Since that moment, Jonah has faced huge challenges and adjustments — and he has met every one of them with bravery, resilience, and an incredible spirit.
In January 2026, Jonah is taking on a huge personal challenge:
running one mile every single day for the entire month
Jonah is raising money for essential epilepsy safety equipment — specifically a night-time seizure monitor. This will allow him to sleep safely and independently, while giving his parents reassurance that any seizure activity overnight will be detected and responded to quickly. Funds will also go towards anti-suffocation pillows, which are an important additional safety measure in the event of a seizure.
Our fundraising target is a huge £3,000.
• The first £1,500 will be used to purchase essential epilepsy monitoring equipment for Jonah directly.
• The next £1,500 will be donated to Young Epilepsy, matching the cost of Jonah’s equipment pound for pound.
Any funds raised above £3,000 will also be donated to Young Epilepsy.
Young Epilepsy has provided Jonah and his family with invaluable information, guidance, and ongoing support following this life-changing diagnosis, and the charity is very close to the hearts of Jonah and his family.
Jonah may be small, but this is a big challenge — and every mile he runs is powered by courage, determination, and a whole lot of heart.
Thank you for supporting him every step of the way.
We’ll be sharing daily updates (or as close to daily as real life allows!) on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, so you can follow Jonah’s progress throughout the challenge.
