UPDATE: The surgery was a success. The mass was large but they were able to remove it and are now doing fluids and pain management. We will be able to pick him up in approximately two hours!! Thank you to everyone who’s donated, you’ve truly shown my daughters and I how truly special you are and how loved Dozer truly is!

STORY:

Dozer was diagnosed with moderately pleomorphic spindle cell proliferation compatible with a spindle cell tumor/soft tissue sarcoma in April 2024. Because of his age and size, and history of abuse, his family decided against surgery as it was not impeding his enjoyment of life or appear to be spreading or involve bone as it was entirely encapsulated.

Though the mass has grown to the size it is and stretched the epithelial tissue and vascular system to its maximum, it’s created cavitations. One cavitation has allowed vascular dissection creating hemorrhaging and spewing of blood.

We have come to the point that surgery is the only option to keep the bleeding under control. Surgery is scheduled for 10am December 29th, 2025 with an amazing vet team that had been so empathetic to the situation.
