Doyle's medical costs and treatment

Hi, my name is Paula and I am the very blessed woman to be Doyle’s Mum.

Doyle has been ill for the past 2 1/2 years. This is almost the entire life time of his beautiful three-year-old daughter Eva. The illness has been physically and cognitively debilitating, leaving Doyle daily bedridden and mainly housebound. Unable to have or hold conversations with others, and doing all he can to distract himself from the symptoms that are overwhelming for most of the day. If he’s lucky he gets two hours that are good in a day.

I am writing this in the hope that we can band together to help Doyle with the numerous medical costs and to search for a diagnosis and effective treatment. There is a treatment/scans coming to Sydney his neurologist keen for him to try. He has also started seeing a naturopath who has had a lot of success in treating others with similar illnesses. He needs some financial help to do this though. He also has physical and cognitive issues that mean he needs other supports

Everyone who knows Doyle knows he had this amazing energy and love for people. People just felt seen and cared for when they were in his company. But over the past 2 1/2 years I have watched him be brave and courageous as he has had to face his health deteriorate drastically with no real answers, after many many tests and specialists appointments.

To give you a picture of what life is like in his life with his beautiful family of his wife Zoe and daughters 3yr old Eva and 9 month old Abby.
Doyle hasn’t been able to work for the last 2 1/2 years, go out with friends, communicate with others or hold a conversation leaving him pretty isolated. Or do things with his family, like sit and have a meal at the table, go for a walk or to the playground, shopping, cook.

My heart breaks watching them trying to deal with this day after day, week after week, year after year. I pray a lot but sometimes there is nothing you can do but just the practical things to make life more easier. So I guess this gives us all the chance to do something practical to help him and his family.
