Thursday evening a fire broke out at the home of Port Lavaca Mayor Jack Whitlow. The fire destroyed the residence. Adjacent businesses sustained smoke, water and other damage.

Something More Foundation has set up a fund to assist the mayor and other property owners in recovery. All funds received will go to the property owners affected. A separate fundraiser is being established to assist with the funeral expenses of Brandon Woolf, who lost his life in the fire.
