Downtown Oshkosh Fire - Selme Family Relief Fund
Donation protected
Imagine being a single mother of three with one son with extreme medical needs. You left everything behind, fled a very difficult situation in a Third World country halfway around the world, and with a lot of luck and some strangers’ help, you ended up in Oshkosh, WI.
Fast forward 18 months later and you’re finally settled into your own apartment, lovingly furnished with your modest possessions. You’ve finally been able to establish a new life and you feel like you’re back on your feet.
Monday night’s fire in Downtown Oshkosh took that all away from Selma and her family as they woke up to a fire that not only consumed one of our community's favorite watering holes but also all of this family's worldly possessions. They were left with a cell phone to call 911 and nothing else.
Please join us in helping show the love and support the Oshkosh community is known for.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help them out and get back on their feet again. We will also be helping them relocate to a new home in our community.
The money will be collected by Eric Hoopman, owner of Black Teak Properties, and given directly to the family. We will be assisting them in buying new furnishings for the home we have found for them.
