Downstairs Bathroom for Leon

Donation protected
Hello, I'm Jonathan. As many of you know my husband< Leon, has had Parkinson's since 2007 a year after our civil partnership.

On 13/12/26 I found him unresponsive and had to call an ambulance>. He was in hospital for five weeks with a UTI an delerium from constipation. The stay confirmed what I had known fro sometime but he finds it hard to accept, Namely that his cognitive functions are now impaired and he is no longer able to focus and complete tasks. He returned home incredibly unsteady on his feet and essentially incontinent.

This leaves us with a huge problem, Our Edwardian Terrace with its steep stairs is no longer a safe environment for him. And the shower is far to small for me to assist him as he now needs.

We are out of money. Our little nest egg is gone as I have really not been working much for about a year - my time is taken up with caring for him.

We need to install a bathroom/wet room downstairs so that he can continue living here: we'd move the bedroom downstairs and he'd never need risk the stairs again.

I asked on Facebook and many of you said you'd be willing to donate. We've already had as much support as I think we're going to get from the Council etc - though if anyone has knowledge I'm open to specific suggestions.

The cost of the bathroom is likely to be £9 - £10 K although the lovely Nick Curtis of the Eagle and Richmond Tea Rooms is helping us out.

If enough people were willing to donate just a small amount, that would be wonderful, and Leon could live here for a few more years.

I'm sorry to be begging but I really don't know what else to do. With grateful thanks to all of you in advance
