Downs family medical expenses

Hello, we are laying down our pride and asking for alittle support. In December of 2023 we experienced what we thought was just an unfortunate chain of events. Since then it has turned into an on going series of events that will probably be on goingbfor sometime.

Our jessee started getting really sick, he started fevering, vomiting and everything in between. On December 11th we took him to the emergency room with swelling in his right eye. We had our first CT scan and sent home with antibiotics. Less than 24 hours we were back in the emergency room with a child who was unrecognizable. Jess had swollen 20 times worse over night with cellulitis in his eye and infection in his sinuses. He was admitted to the hospital for 8 long days. He had to have a surgery during the stay. After 8 days he was finally released to go home to enjoy his some of his Christmas season.

Fast forward to Christmas night we end up back int he emergency room. Only this time for Andy. Andy was having pain in his stomach and redness around the naval area. After a CT scan we came to find out he had cellulitis and an abcess in his belly. Which also lead to another surgery for our family.

Here we are 3 months later and still reliving the nightmare. Jessees ENT wanted him to have allergy testing and another CT scan. Through the allergy testing we have learned Jess has developed a severe allergy to grass and other environmental substances. The worse part was the CT scan which has shown Jess has thickening in his sinuses in his left check and inflammation in his sinuses. Jess will do another 3 weeks of antibiotics and another CT scan 6 weeks.

We will be looking at a possible 2nd surgery and immunotherapy to help protect him from getting sick again.

The reality of all of this is we have been slammed with $9,000 in medical expenses from the surgeries and hospital stay. With the possibility of more to come. We have insurance but they only cover so much.

We are very prideful and never in a million years wanted to ask for help. We are grateful for any help to keep us above water.
