Doug’s Story
Our beautiful Doug was more than just a father, son, brother, uncle, grandad, nephew, cousin and friend — he was the kind of person who brought warmth, laughter, and loyalty wherever he went. The sort of man who would give you the shirt off his back, sit with you in your darkest moments, and somehow still make you laugh through your tears.
Doug lived life with a huge heart. He loved deeply, cared fiercely for the people around him, and never wanted anyone to struggle alone. Family meant everything to him. He carried people through hard times even when he was fighting battles of his own.
Recently, our world changed forever.
Doug became critically ill and was admitted to intensive care, where he fought with incredible strength and courage. Despite everything his body endured, he kept fighting for every moment. Surrounded by love from his family, Doug sadly passed away, leaving behind a heartbreak that words cannot truly describe.
Anyone who knew Doug will know he was so much more than the circumstances surrounding his passing. He was funny, stubborn, protective, kind-hearted, and unforgettable. He deserved so much more time.
As a family, we are now trying to navigate the emotional pain of losing him whilst also facing the financial pressures that come with funeral costs, memorial arrangements, and supporting those closest to him during this devastating time.
We are asking, from the bottom of our hearts, for any support you may be able to give — no matter how small. Every donation will go towards giving Doug the send-off he deserves and helping ease some of the burden on our family as we try to process this unimaginable loss.
If you cannot donate, please consider sharing Doug’s story. Your kindness, prayers, messages, and support mean more than you could ever know.
Thank you for taking the time to read about our Doug.
Forever loved. Forever missed.
Now reunited with our Dad.
