Douglas Walls medical and household expenses.

I am fundraising for my oldest son, Douglas Walls. My name is Tina Walls, my husband is Doug and our youngest son is Daniel. Douglas is 36 years old and the sole provider for his family of five. He and Megan, his wife of 13 years, have three sons, 11, 9 and 4 years old. On Thursday, May 4, 2023 he worked all day then came to our house in Virginia to help Doug and Daniel load large and heavy items as we (Doug, Daniel and myself) are still in the process of moving everything outside the house to our new address in Tennessee. The three parted ways around 10:30pm. On the way home, Douglas fell asleep while driving, ran off the road and smashed into a tree in his prized 1993 Mustang. Nearby occupants heard the crash and called 911. His car caught fire and was extinguished by a passerby in a work truck.

He was wearing his seatbelt but his faced slammed into the steering wheel. His bottom lip was torn open all the way down to his chin. A portion of his top jaw bone broke off and the only thing keeping it in his mouth was the gum. The top teeth from his left canine, across the front and all the way to back right tooth are shattered or missing. About 40% of his bottom teeth the same. He bit through his tounge and it was glued together on the underside. His top jaw has been wired together, but not wired closed.

Douglas started a new job 3 weeks ago, has no PTO and health/dental insurance won't kick in until next month. He'll need mulitiple proceedures including the removal of pieces of shattered teeth and dental replacement. He is on a 6-week soft food diet and no return to work note has been mentioned at this time.

Megan's faith in God is remarkable. She said some women come away with just their husband's boots, but she got her husband and his boots. Neither Douglas nor Megan asked me to set this account up and it was completely my idea. They do not ask for handouts, as he works hard and she budgets like crazy.
