Sadly Douglas who is my absolute pride and joy was run over by a car on 1st June 2025. Whoever hit him not only left him to die but they dragged him along the road with their car before doing so.

Despite his horrendous state Douglas managed to drag himself home to safety and patiently waited behind the sofa for us to find him and get him some help.

As a result of this hit and run Douglas has suffered with a de-gloved lower jaw which has been stitched back together again, a broken front leg which has been operated on and metal plates put in and there are spine fragments that have been chipped as well.

His treatment so far has maxed out his £7000 insurance cover and we have been given the disappointing news today that he has developed an infection around one of the screws in the metal plate and is going to require another operation to remove them as well as potentially two more sets of x-rays which as it stands will take us to an extra £1000 which will not be covered by the insurance.

Times are tough for everyone right now but if you could find it in your heart to spare even £1 that would greatly help us with his continuation of treatment.
