Doug Conkle, husband of Margaret “Peggy”, father of Erika Gamble (Matthew) and Danielle (Michael) Sloma, and loving grandfather to Landen, Parker, Brandon, Celeste and Mason, passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2024. After serving as a medic in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, Doug attended The Ohio State University and Washington State University and spent many of his civilian years working at The Ohio Expo where he curated countless wonderful experiences for its guests.

Doug was known as a hard working man who expressed his love and devotion through acts of service for those within his life, strangers on the street, and caring for countless animals in need of love and attention. Doug was not one to ask for anything, but was the first to give endlessly.
