Dougie Kite Fundraiser

UPDATE - Hi ladies and gents, we just wanted to give you an update on Dougie. He is doing really well and has settled into his new flat. He is due to have his prosthetic leg fitted in a weeks time which will be a game changer ❤️

A few of us went to meet Dougie for lunch and to present him with a cheque (a fake one lol but the money has been transferred into Dougie’s bank). We raised a whopping  £2273 and it’s all thanks to you all ❤️ Dougie was completely overwhelmed and lost for words, probably the first time in his life He wanted to pass on a HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated, he is extremely grateful and humbled. We are going to keep the fundraiser going for a bit longer incase anyone who hasn’t already, would like to donate.

Hi Ladies, Gentlemen and fellow drivers,

I'm sure you all know of Dougie Kite, the man mountain of a specimen. Reknowned for wearing a vest and shorts in the middle of the coldest winters…….crazy

He has recently suffered some serious health issues including Diabetes. This has resulted in the amputation of his left leg up to the knee which leaves him with life changing consequences.

Doug is a man who finds it totally natural to think of others before himself as many will remember during his time as National Steward at ECM, having got many a disciplinary reduced substantially. He fought many a battle for the benefit of his colleagues, including the achievement of Average Pay for compulsory rest, an accolade matched by no other in the industry.

Dougie is not one to ask for help, but I’m sure you’ll all agree that now is our time to give something back.
