Dear Santa,

Spread the word! We need your help. We need #Dough4Jo

We need you to help tell everyone to help kick ALL the "ALL" out of our little bunny Jo!

This week, as many of us were gathering around the Thanksgiving table, our little friend Jo was fighting for a different hope of thanks. We all know how exorbitant medical treatment is. Please help with #Dough4Jo

Jo's current medical plan (as of Thanksgiving) is 30 more days inpatient and 24 months of chemo beyond that. If this year taught us anything it is that we all know plans change, so for now we are taking each moment as it comes. Jo is only six years old. She will still be fighting through inpatient on Christmas day (and beyond).

Dear Santa...

Our list to you just got a little longer. 2020 owes us ALL a lot. It's been one hell of a year for so many. Let's ALL pitch in to kick ALL the "ALL" outta little Jo. This is our Christmas request for you. You know everyone in the world. Please share our request to help this little bunny.

With Gratitude,

"ALL" of us
#Dough4Jo

"ALL"  is B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. B cells are defenders of your body. Along with other cells, they make up your body’s immune system. When B cells become cancerous, they can grow out of control and cause a type of blood cancer called B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).

On Tuesday, a persistently tired and generally not feeling well Jo and mom made their way to the pediatrician and waited patiently (one of them more patient than the other…) for an hour for “just to be safe” bloodwork. They got the call the next morning that there was something abnormal about Jo's counts and they should head to Connecticut Children's Medical Center ER “to be safe.” They repeated the bloodwork and an oncologist told them her lab work was consistent with Leukemia and they would be moved to the PICU immediately to stabilize Jo and begin blood transfusions.

This Thanksgiving looked a lot different than usual for little Jo.

From Mom, Rebecca Boncoddo (Sullivan): "So here we sit today, a Thanksgiving that looks a hell of a lot different than I expected, but one I am so incredibly thankful to have. I will forever be thankful to the PA that decided being cautious was the right course of action. To the phlebotomist who listened to Joey scream and say hateful things but persisted in drawing 7 tubes of blood from an anemic and dehydrated child. To every doctor and nurse that listened to Joey scream, 'You're killing me' as they literally worked to save her life and to all of the people I am undoubtedly going to be relying on for the next 24 months of active treatment for our little lady. I am so sorry for the mass post and for responding to so few of everyone’s kind messages as word has begun to spread. Everyone agrees Joey is a fighter, and this Thanksgiving we are going to focus on her insane willpower in fighting this."

Please share this with everyone you can... and we know you can, Santa.
