Dough Mama Staff Support

Due to recent events as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, Dough Mama Cafe + Bakery has had to close it’s doors for the time being.  Despite a great desire to continue to provide for the community, the team decided it was in the best interest of the community and staff’s safety, to shut down production, and therefore temporarily lay-off all employees. 

While this is the best decision for the business, it means incredible stress for our hardworking staff members who rely entirely on the source of income that our community provides.   

It is a terrible decision to have to make, between risking your health by staying open, or maintaining your income, but safety must come first.  However, this means the staff is now fully relying on unemployment, and while the efforts of the government are appreciated, the benefits provided have yet to come through, and many staff members have not received any financial support since Dough Mama’s closing on March 19th.  

Therefore we are asking our community for any amount of support you generously care to donate to our wonderful staff.  All donations will be evenly distributed amongst the team for things like rent, groceries, medical supplies, transportation, child care, etc. and will be deeply appreciated.

We can not tell you how grateful we are for your support and the outpouring of love and concern we have received since our closure.  These are incredibly challenging times and even if a financial donation is not something that is possible for you,  it warms our hearts and continues to motivate us to keep going, knowing that you’re rooting for us.  Please stay safe and take care of one another.  We can not thank you enough for taking care of us.
