Doug's Lung Transplant Battle

My little brother Doug Barrett is currently at U of M Hospital on a ventilator. Doug first got a double lung transplant 14 years ago. Because of Chronic Rejection was required to be on oxygen the beginning of 2019 and went on the transplant list at U of M last fall, it was getting harder and harder to breath. July 1st, he got the call that they had lungs for Doug and after a long and difficult surgery, the healing process has been a roller coaster. He is still on the ventilator and battling pneumonia and it has been an up and down process. Please be in prayer for Doug, his family and the family of the donor. Meanwhile, his incredible wife Cassie is traveling daily to University of Michigan Hospital to be with Doug from their home in Union City, MI. She had to take the last month off work to be there for her husband and keep her home together for 3 awesome kids. She is traveling 170 miles round trip daily, hot water heater just went out in their home ($1500), she is exhausted and emotional.
