In early February, our friend Doug Willingham experienced a stroke and was admitted to Atrium Health in Pineville. He had a blocked carotid artery and had surgery at Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute on February 17th. He currently has very little mobility on the left side of his body and will need significant physical therapy to recover fully. We are fundraising for Doug's medical expenses because insurance does not cover the best physical therapy options recommended by his doctors. Also, Doug will not be able to work for an undetermined amount of time while he recovers. Many of us know Doug as one of the most generous people and the first to help his friends and give back to his community. We are confident that his family, friends, coworkers, and the community can come together to help fundraise for his medical expenses.

 

Our fundraising goal is listed as $10,000 but is currently undetermined, as we are not sure of the amount Doug will need throughout the next few months. We may raise the goal once we know how much funding is needed. All proceeds from this GoFundMe will go directly to Doug (GoFundMe charges a small fee for debit/credit card transactions).
