Doug Steeves needs our help to fight Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Update on Doug Steeves as of Wednesday, August 16th:
Doug is not doing as well as was expected. He was taken to the hospital on Monday due to weakness and swelling on the right side of his head. Apparently, the chemo and radiation didn't make much difference. An MRI was done and it showed the cancer is progressing. The doctors advised Doug that now in addition to the cancer, he also has Vasogenic edema: An accumulation of fluid on the outside of brain cells due to a BBB (blood-brain barrier) disturbance. This can be caused by a brain tumor. The doctors say there is nothing more they can do for him. Hospice is being called in and Doug was sent home yesterday to have time with his family and friends and to be kept as comfortable as possible.
Doug and his family can't thank you all enough for the outpouring of support from all of your donations, prayers and kind words.
Please continue to share this GoFundMe so we can continue to help Doug and his wife Debbie with this enormous financial burden.

Hello, my name is Sherrill Tompkins and I have known Doug Steeves and his family for more than 40 years.
A little over a year ago Doug experienced a brief change in his vision and became nauseous for a moment. It went away almost as soon as he experienced it. He figured if it happened again, he would call his doctor. It didn't happen again until about a year later. He called his doctor and tests were run. Fast forward 8 weeks later (delay due to insurance approvals and scheduling) and he is having brain surgery to remove a tumor. Tests came back with a result of Brain Cancer. Doug is currently receiving radiation and chemo treatments.
Doug is a truck driver so he cannot work while he is in this treatment regimen. Between medical and recovery costs and time away from work, he could really use your help and support to help him fight this tremendous battle and not have to worry that he has no income coming in and bills are mounting. Doug's wife works part-time; however, the treatment center is 63 miles away and that sometimes makes her late for work depending on the time of his appointment and therefore shortens her paycheck.
Thank you in advance to any and all of you who donate whatever amount you can, however big or small and for supporting Doug through his time of need.
Please continue to send positive energy, thoughts, wishes, and prayers for Doug and his family. They truly appreciate each and every one of you.
