It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I share the news that our dear friend & brother Doug Slater passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Wed 8/19/2020.  Doug was the kindest, gentlest most loving person that many of us knew and his passing leaves a deep hole in the fabric of our community and in the hearts of all who were touched by his life. We are all shocked and grief-stricken at the loss of our beloved friend and relative.

In an effort to offer support Doug's partner Molly and to honor Doug's life and the love we all hold in our hearts for him, we have established the Doug Slater Memorial Family Fund.

Please give generously and feel free to offer your condolences, thoughts and prayers here. We will pass them along to Molly and Doug's family back in Ohio.

The fund is being administered by Medicine Path Native American Church, Berkeley, CA and 100% of it's net proceeds will go to his partner Molly. 

Doug was a dearly beloved, honored and respected friend and brother to many people both in the Medicine Path Church and in the larger community who share with him the intention to live a life of self-healing in the service of love and for the benefit of all our relations.

Doug was a beloved part of many circles in and beyond the SF Bay Area.  His life was filled with music, art, community and love. His legacy lives on in the many thousands of images he produced as professional photographer.  His art was infused with and is reflective of the deep love, brilliant warm light and humble reverence for life that Doug exuded in his walk on life's path. We will miss him dearly. His love remains in all our hearts.
